Washington, May 16, 2016. The Transportation Research Board grants its patronage to TIS 2017.  TRB is one of seven program units of the USA National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, which provides independent, objective analysis and advice to the nation and conducts other activities to solve complex problems and inform public policy decisions.

AIIT, the Italian Association for Traffic and Transport Engineering, was established in Padua in 1957.
